The Royal Lieu Siong Family System of Kuntao was brought to America, from Indonesia by Willem A. Reeders. Great Grandmaster (GGM) Willem Reeders was trained by his Uncle Lieu Siong in their family system of Kuntao. Uncle Lieu Siong moved from Hekao, China to Jakarta, Indonesia to live with his sister after being attacked by bandits. Uncle Lieu Siong was able to fight them off until one of the bandits threw ground up glass into Uncle Lieu Siong’s eyes leaving him legally blind.
For Uncle Lieu Siong payment for living with his sister, Uncle Lieu Siong trained GGM Reeders in their family Royal System of Kuntao. Traditionally, when the system was handed down, the family member took his Master’s name. That is briefly how GGM Willem Reeders is also known as GGM Lieu Siong. GGM Willem Reeders family system of Kuntao is a highly sophisticated form of fighting which focuses on close range technique.
The Reeders Kuntao System is known as Chinese Hands and Indonesian Feet. That’s because the lighting fast hand movements come from their family Chinese Gung Fu. Reeders Kuntao system that teach whipping strikes along with crushing finishing blows, and then its combined with Indonesian Silat footwork patterns better mobility. GGM Willem Reeders was Chinese on his mother’s side, Dutch on his father’s side, and was raised in Indonesia. GGM William Reeders served in the Royal Dutch Indonesian Army. When World War II began the Japanese took control of the Indonesian islands. GGM Willem Reeders was captured by the Japanese, however, he was able to escape the Japanese. GGM Willem Reeders start doing sabotage missions against the Japanese under the code name “Red Ant”.
