Malay Fighting Arts Curriculum:
The new student will start off by learning basics of Panantukan (Filipino Boxing). You’ll learn the hand strikes, elbows, kneeing, and low line kicking. During this time you’ll also learn evasive footwork as well as blocks to stop incoming strikes.
Once the student is proficient at Panantukan, then they learn about our Close Quarter Combat method called Kuntao. You’ll then learn Dumog (Filipino Grappling) to enhance our Close Quarter Combat method. Then you begin to blend everything you learned into a very fast dominating system. The student then learns Harimau (Ground Fighting). Harimau teaches you how to fight when you’re on the ground, and your opponent is either standing or on the ground at a distance. Then your training is finished with ground grappling to make a more complete system.
Our system is made of three main systems and other systems that Guru Jim has trained in over the years. This system was forged in real life combat in barrooms, in jails, and on the streets. Please take a look at the history of our main systems Pangasanian Arnis, Reeders Kuntao, and Poekoelan Tjimindie.
